About the Owner & Old Frontier Tactical Gunsmithing (OFTG)
Bio (approx. 1 page when formatted nicely)
Ji Thomas Elliott is a 100% disabled U.S. Army veteran (E-7(P), retired 2011) and the proud owner of Old Frontier Tactical Gunsmithing (OFTG) in Las Vegas, Nevada. After 21 years of military service and over 30 years in high-stakes operations and logistics management, Ji opened OFTG in 2026 to combine his lifelong passion for firearms with the precision and discipline he learned in uniform.
Trained through the Sonoran Desert Institute (SDI) in Gunsmithing, Ji brings professional technical knowledge in firearm mechanics, ballistics, custom builds, and client communication. His background includes turning around major contracts overseas, maintaining $100M+ in assets with 100% accountability, and a commitment to doing things the right way — every time.
What sets Old Frontier Tactical Gunsmithing apart is simple: veteran-owned and operated, with real-world leadership experience and modern gunsmithing training. We treat every firearm like it’s our own — with honesty, attention to detail, and a focus on safety and reliability. Whether it’s routine maintenance, custom tactical builds, Cerakote finishing, or helping a fellow gun owner through an FFL transfer, you’ll receive straightforward advice and quality workmanship you can trust.
At OFTG, we believe in old-school integrity combined with tactical excellence. No shortcuts. No pressure sales. Just reliable gunsmithing from a fellow veteran who understands the importance of gear that works when it matters most.
